The Francke Foundations are a vibrant educational cosmos in Halle an der Saale, deeply rooted in the town’s history and at home today on a unique historical site. The Francke Foundations were established in 1698 with the aim of developing society. Today, in keeping with this tradition, they advocate democratic education, social participation and sustainable action. With their precious museum exhibits, a library, an archive and several socio-educational facilities as well as some 40 partners on the site, the foundations form a unique centre of cultural, educational, scientific and social encounters and activities.
In cooperation with the Family Competence Centre for Education and Health, the August Hermann Francke after-school club and school social work in primary and comprehensive schools, the MehrSelbst project combines scientific research and continuous feedback with important partners from practice. The aim is to transfer the research results into practice, an important goal of the research project.
